Default Internally wiring handlebar speakers on apes: H-D Boom Audio

Has anyone ever done any internal wiring of boom audio handlebar speakers on apes? I'm going to switch to apes and I don't want the black wiring coming from the hand switch to the amp to be exposed.

Need to know how so that I don't screw the pooch on this one!

Thoughts???

No real point to it. You can't hide all the wires. You need to be able to get to the 3.5mm input and I would not want that inside the bar. Those cables go bad...I still don't know what I am doing about a stereo. I am thinking lowers with speakers and bag lids...

Really interesting thought on the lowers but I really like the clean look without those...for the time being.

I'm a bit nervous about the internal wiring because I have heard about the controlers (like you're mentioing) going bad and I'd prefer not to screw with all the issues if it does. To beclear...I'm referring to the main wiring from the hand controller to the amp...not the 3.5 mm input though. I've got a solution on that one.

Was not sure if this has been done and what success others have had with it.

How about speakers on the crash bar...hard to picture it, but that's a possibility. Then again why not just get lowers then?

Did you try to install it internally or just go with mounting the wires on the outside?

How are the speakers on the crash bar??

I am planning on installing apes/chroming controls and was thinking about trying to hook up with the Drag Specialties, 96-12 Chrome Radio Switch Kit 0616-0124. Hook the radio switch kit from the bars to the boom hand control inside the nacelle and have the 3.5mm come from the nacelle.

Looks like the new CVO Road King uses similiar switches, don't know how it is internally wired, I haven't seen one yet.

If it is not possible maybe some type of mod to have the Boom hand control mounted at the tip of my seat where it meets the console.

Anyone else try this or something different?
