Default SE 204 cams

After WAY to much reading and confusing the myself with all the options available

I have read a few good things on the forum with regards to the SE 204 but seems a little used cam so I went to the tuner and asked his advice he showed me a few runs on different cams and the 204's & advised the SE 204 w/SE adjustable pushrods.

bike info:
08 Road glide w/96"/ SE Heavy breather & MGS true duals.
I don't ride in hard, I ride between 2600 & 3500 rpm.

Anyone using the 204 I would like to hear your experience & input.

thanxs
Colin

Lots of good results with 204's in a 96" with good tune. Another popular cam option for your riding range would be a Andrews 48H. Lots of good power down low yet it still pulls nicely to mid/upper 4k range..

Ya, I looked at so many different dyno charts for so many different setups, honestly I am looking for rideability & reliability, just a bit more get up & go.

I have had some cars with big #'s but driveability & reliability are important.
I MUST BE GETTING OLD, LOL

I am in the same boat, I bought my new to me 99 EG standard 3 months ago and am confused completely as what to do to it, had new tensioners put in before i bought it so I just want a cam replacement with maybe a new oil pump, don't have $2k for new everything in there like some of those kits they sell.

I'm far from an expert, my searching and talking to builders the 204 seems to like higher than stock compression to really live up to it's potential. I agree with the suggestions for 48H or 222 on a motor that hasn't had changes in compression or headwork.

The 204's work great in the 96 motors. I had them in my Night Train and got 86 hp and 103 ftlbs of torque. It ran great, pulled hard and would hit the 5000 rpm shift light right now. The torque does top out around 5000 and comes on hard around 1800 to 2000 rpm in the stock motor. I got almost the same numbers out of cams and a new tune in the thundermax as guys were getting in SE 103 builds. I also had a SE heavy breather and a thunderheader exhaust.

The 204's are a great cam for an otherwise stock 96 motor.

I used the 204 in my 95" Softail build and loved them. Im planning to use them in my 103 on the Road Glide. They are a strong pulling cam from low side of midrange to redline
