Default SE 255 to Woods 222 direct comparo

Anyone go from the SE 255 to the Woods 222 cams (preferably in a 103")?
Similarities?
Differences?

Thanks

I had the Woods 555 in my 2012 FLHX. Wow, what a cam, very quiet on idle, as quiet as stock, but when you hit the gas at about 3K rpm that thing took off like a rocket. Not familiar with the 222.

I believe the 222 is their latest and only recently introduced, so there may not be many out there yet.

Yep the 222 is relatively new and the reviews are just coming in ... sounds like a viable option to the SE255 that will hopefully help with the hot start trouble some are encountering on when doing just the SE255 camp swap with no compression releases.

I have the 222 on a 103 and it pulls very strong all the way to redline. It has a nice lope at idle, sounds wicked. It's a perfect touring cam. 6th gear @ 3k. Rpm there is no need to down shift. It's a different animal now.

The. Fuelmoto site has the dyno sheets for the TW222 in a 103

I am having the cam installed first week of November, earlier if my Indy can get me squeezed in. The SE255 cam in my RKC made 85HP and 100 FT/# torque. The TW222 cam appears to give at least 10 more hp and torque over the SE cam.
The beginning Torque comes on with the TW222 very strong and carries over towards the right.

Search TW222 on the threads here, Punisher660 just put in TW 222 cams and posted video clip and says they rock pretty good.

Also, I have ping issues with the 255 and hope that the 222 will be less prone to ping and run cooler. Will provide feedback after install done.

I find that kind of pull with the "stocker" compared to the 96" 's I had, as far as 6th gear @ 2500 rpm.

I posted to put to rest in my mind what I will be doing next spring, after I kick cancer's ***, and have more than 2500 miles on my bike. I have the PV and pipes allready, but have friends that have said, and I have read on here where cams are a good investment, regardless.

How early do they come on?
I have seen the dyno sheets, but like to hear of real world experiences,
Thanks,
Bob

I felt a difference when I let the clutch out from the stock cams to the 222's.
it really starts pulling @2k at 3k hold on. I ride up 2 a lot it it made it more enjoyable not having to rev it up a lot.

The torque curve if tall and flat. You really don't know how fast your going until you look at the speedo. Passing is effortless now.

Stock and 255 cams are made to be EPA legal. The 255's should make quite a bit more power then stock but the 222 is made to make the bike run right without EPA restrictions!
