Default factory air shock

buddy of mine knew i wanted to swap out my dyna stock shocks for a set of touring air assist shocks. beign im to dam nbroke to buy a set of good take offs he scrounged me up a set of take off's that one of them is not traveling properly *seems like it is binding up at about the half way compressed point. anyway is there a way to disasemble these ones to clean up the internals and fix whatever is causing the binding? i can get the snap ring off but have no clue where to go from there tried pulling them apart thinking they was pressed int oeach other but that didnt work out so im at a loss. figure someone "might" have some expeirience in this area

Most stock Harley shocks are not rebuildable, in other words they are not designed to be dismantled, let alone reassembled. If one of them is binding it is best laid to rest and the other one put down, as an act of kindness.

Harley's rear shocks are rebuildable but it's best to take them to a suspension shop. By the time you pay him, you could buy a take off set for less $

I didn't like the stock air shocks on my FLHTK, went with Progressive 940. Don't know why someone would deliberately put them on any bike.

Shop around. Phat Performance had them for a good price last year, don't remember exactly but around 500 I believe

The money I put in this bike are functional mods, not bling mods.

I have heard a couple people have used the shocks from a Kawasaki Nomad, touring bike, with success. Thought about it but they don't have the weight rating necessary for the EG. Might be able to find a set of take-offs, seems some in that crowd like the Progressive 412 but I thought they were fine.
