Default Amsoil Cross Reference for Tranny Fluid - 2007 Street Glide

I have a 2007 Street Glide and the owners manual recommends tranny fluid 99851-05. I was looking on the Amsoil site and they cross reference HD tranny fluid 99851-05 with their MCV20W-50 engine oil. So basically the MCV20W-50 can be used in the engine, primary, and tranny. Would using the Amsoil SVO SAE 75W-140 be ok to use in the tranny in my bike instead of the MCV20W-50? Any thoughts?

Why?
When the MCV20/50 is good in all holes? The 20/50 has the shear properties suitable for use as a gear oil.

I recommend the Amsoil 75W-140 gear lube. It's perfectly fine for your tranny, will quiet it down, shift smoother, and find neutral easier.

Been using the same viscosity only in a Mobil 1 since bike broke in and gear lube does as everyone says.....any brand in that viscosity will do just fine.

I have been using the Amsoil 75W-140 gear lube in the tranny for 20K now. It comes out looking like it's never been used. Why would you not want to use gear lube in a tranny? Most people don't want pay the extra 8 bucks. Trust me when you see it come out of your tranny after 5K you won't believe how clean it is!

The Amsoil 20w50 meets GL-1 specs for use as a gear lube. With that said, I have used the 20w50 and it worked fine. I have used both the 75w90 and 75w140 severe service gear lube.

I changed from the 20w50 to the 75w90 due to finding neutral was not any easier.

I tried the 75w140 at the next spring fluid change and thought I had a bearing noise. Put the 75w90 back in and still have the noise.

Found out the noise is the tires.

I have ased Amsoil for 17 years...... Dealer for 16 years. Have used their products in all my vehicles.

I would recomend the Severe Service 75w140 in the transmission, and the 20w50 in the engine and primary.

If you have any problems finding neutral then do a clutch adjustment from the begining (start behind the derby cover).

The 20/50 synthetic can be used in all three holes, I dont know about the other.
I would contact Amsoil, I talked to Jeff at Amsoil for years when I would order my stuff.
I would just use what they recommend to be safe, I know it works well, and always used it in all three holes on my 04 Road King.
