Like I said, I am asking, those who know... and NOT those who think, please respond on whether or not car tires cup out as fast and as soon as the MC tires do? I have been having a huge problem with this on rear MC tires. Thanks for your imput.

 

I have never had one cup. They do wear in the middle before the sides, another reason to lower the air pressure. A car tire is not going to last 80k miles or whatever it is rated at, you can plan on about half the rated mileage, maybe even a little less, depending on the tire and how and where you ride.

 

From my exsperence, no. I'm on my 2nd CT. Haven't had any cupping yet. 195-60-16 Bridgestone and now 205-55-16 Handkook.

 

There is a dedicated forum on HDF for CT stuff, if you don't want adverse comments! It's open season in here.

As for your MC tyres, there is something wrong if they are cupping badly. A CT may not be the solution, but getting your MC tyres right is worth a little effort. Your pressures must be way out!

 

I don't know about car tires on bikes. But I do know that cupping tires sound to me like you have a balance, or an alignment issue.

 

What is the link to that dedicated Car Tire Section. This is the first I've heard of it.
