My tour-pack finally came in and I installed it this morning, except I forgot about the antenna. I've seen several different types of relocation kits for moving the antenna - can you guys recommend one, or at least some of the pros/cons of the different kits?

Best option (IMO) is to get the inner fairing mounted antenna. Keeps things nice and clean looking. Steve

What I used on my Street Glide.

 

All the wiring and crap inside the fairing kind of scares me - I'd hate to open up the fairing and then not be able to get all the wires stuffed back in. Wiring/electronics is probably my weakest area.

So, how difficult is it to install the inside-fairing antenna?

I bought one of the boom audio hidden antennas for my streetglide and the reception was about half that of the stock antenna I wasn't impressed, so this time when I took my tour pak off my 12 ultra I bought one of the 18.00 hidden ones on eBay and it works great! Install is simple remove the front of the fairing (there won't be any wires that you'll have to push back in other than pluging the headlight back in and then simply unplug old antenna and plug new one in and use the 3m tape to stick it to the inner fairing, your done now put fairing back on! Have fun!

 

If you don't feel comfortable taking the fairing apart without risking a scratch, try something different:

I used this 4.5" antenna on my 2011 F150 and looked so good that I bought them for my tour pack... they work very good, with little to no difference.

It's easy. There are two unused wires you can use for a powered antenna.
I use the $20 Metra powered and it works well.
