What is this factory HP on 103 ?

H-D tends to only publish torque numbers, however stock hp and torque dyno sheets are shown in the screaming eagle catalog to pimp the "stage kits"
stock 103" is about 64 peak HP
the stock 80" evo was 55 HP ( 45 in CA due to emissions cam)
stage one on that was about 62~65 HP depending on components
TC 88 was much the same ( due to constricted head design)
TC 96 is about 63/64 ( stage 1 is good for another 7 to 10 HP)
the larger displacements tend to emphasize Torque gains over HP
TC 96 about 78 ft pounds, 103 about 81 ft pounds.
some interesting info in the screaming eagle catalog if you read between the lines
* and HP number for touring are higher than same version motor on the dyna- this is due to the larger exhaust system volume which the larger bike can carry.
HP numbers for the softail "B" motor are possibly lower due to the parasitic balancing shaft frictional load

Fuel Moto offers exhaust systems to boost performance from the stock 103. You can read all you can absorb on that in these forums. They have a great website and offer good products. I copied a dyno run output from their web site that I think accurately reflects the stock performance. You can check it out yourself....

On this dyno run the stock 103 Ultra Ltd put out 69.38 HP at about 5000 RPM. At the RPM range most riding is done the 103 puts out 45 to 55 HP in the 2500 to 3500 RPM band.
Me personally....I like torque more.

Sooo...based strictly on the numbers, my "old" 96 with stage 1 will run right with the new 103? Numbers show right in line. Good to know, was a debate some time back.

SE 255 Cams (Good mid-range cams from about 2500 to 4500 rpm.) Right in the range you want the extra power for passing. I do a lot of highway riding/touring and they are perfect for me.
