Andrews should have a full kit to upgrade your cam chest. Probably stock style cams, too.You will need to have your crank checked for run-out to run gears, so don't get your hopes up. Run-out should be less than .001 inch. Which is hit or miss in an '05.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

Default Go Hydraulic tesioners

You would be better off with an upgrade cam plate and mild cams.Stock lift is .474,an Andrews 26 is .490,with a little more duration. I f your crank runout is loose,it will eat those gears..........

Most 06 and earlier motors can handle gear drive, ( its te 07 and later that have the junk cranks.) But measure the run out. It needs to be under .003".

The Andrews 26 is designed for the higher compression 95" Big Bore ( My bike.) The Andrews 21 is designed for your 88" and is very popular and recommended.

The Timken bearings/forged cranks ended with the 2002 models............

If you are going to change cams it really does make sense to get an upgraded set, like the Andrews 21. Nothing wild, but very worthwhile. Everything on a stock bike, from cam timing, ignition timing and fuelling, is designed to meet noise and emissions regulations. Changing away from those will give a very nice affordable boost in performance and ride quality.

Subscribed.....Thinking about doing the same thing with my 2000 RK. Was told that 99-02 were the best candidate for the gear drive. Anyone know this to be true?

99 to 02 had the timken left bearing and forged crank. Usually a good candidate for gear drives, but still might be in your best interest to have runout checked for piece of mind. My 01 runout was less than .03 so i went with S&S 510's with true duals and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake. Had it dyno'd at Doc's HD in St. Louis, MO. and showed 78.5 horse and 96.15 torque. Really woke it up. Other than a very minor gear whine at idle, loved the improvement. But, like has been said, a little makes you want more, so after 28000 miles like that i went to the 97" BB with Woods 5G cams and head work. It never ends, lol.
