Default Those 2 whip antennas

What the heck holds the two big whip antennas on the tour pak of my 07 EGU? I thought they were just screwed in. Do I have to put a pair a Vice Grips on them to unscrew them or is there some trick. My manual doesn't have squat about it. It's a Clymer but it's all I have.

Put your specs on and take a closer look.

At the base of each antenna is a small allen head set screw that must be loosened before turning the antennas counter-clockwise to remove.

Be sure to make them "Right" or "Left: before removing them.

Okay, is this allen screw on the inside or outside the box? If it's inside I may have a problem. One of the acorn nuts just spins. Not sure what I'm going to do about that.

Newer bikes just twist on and off. Older years have set screw noted. Changes made due to revised loading methods used on more recent bikes.
