Default Info on dyno

Just put cams and ss 106 kit in 09 ultra. The indie who did the installation mapped the power commander but i'am wondering if i should get a dyno on it and if anybody knows about what a dyno would cost.

Average for dyno is $300. It makes your bike run at the peak of its performance but normally the installed map is fairly close.

It all depends how good the map was...
If you used all standard parts and SS supplied the map then it is probabbly pretty good. If I Hi Po speciality shop like Fuel Moto supplied the the map then it is probabbly pretty good.
On the other hand if your shop just used a standard canned map that was kinda close then you are leaving alot of performance on the table. Or you might get good performance with poor fuel milage or lots of pinging.

The real answer is "it all depends...."

canned maps are great for weekend warriors or the occasional rider. pay the money for a great dyno guy and get your money's worth out of that motor instal

do your homework and find a reputable tuner,a lot of hacks out there that can do far worse than a "canned map"

Put it on the Dyno. Yes, it's $300, but a small price to get all the power and efficiency you you paid for.

My $0.02

I run a canned map from fuel moto but my motor is stock minus the exhaust pipe and it runs like a raped ape. I will dyno it in the spring to see how the AFR curve looks and what type of performance I am getting. IMO if you just paid for all those upgrades, spend the xtra change to make sure you're squeezing it for top performance.

Just be sure a competent tuner does it. Ask around for recommendation.
