have a ? and would appreciate any help i have a 96 electra glide police bike with an aftermarket jvc head unit. the speakers were blown when i purchased the bike and was curious if the 7.25 would fit or will i have issues?? thanks for any help!

 

The stock size speaker for the Harley is 5.25". Any size speaker other than stock will require a speaker adapter for the size used.
I know of two size adapters commercially sold, 6.5" and 7.25". There may be other sizes, but they are not widely used.

 

Jm says kit comes with what is needed. I jus wasnt sure and new to the bagger world and ive heard they wont fit with mine. Fairing style changed in 96 and I think they are still the same now? Figured id post and get some help from some veterans on here to school a rookie lol. I appreciate your help!

 

The J&M website says 06-13 figment in the fairings. I have them in my 12 FLHX. Why not hit John from J&M up on this forum. Send a reply to this thread.

They will work!! Buy the xtc rokkers ad they come with the adapter rings!! Your good to go ( but they are 2 ohm. So ensure head unit is 2 ohm compatible)
J&m rokkers are fantastic you'll love em!

 

All H/K units use 2 ohm speakers.

 

Correct HK' s after 03 are all 2ohm, but fxst02 has a Jvc after market head unit... Need to check if that's 2 ohm.

 

actually 06 and up they switched to Harmon Kardon HUs which are 2 ohm stable and speakers that are stock are 2 ohm.

05 and prior used 8 ohm speakers with the radio sounds HU
