Default Mustang vs Danny Grey seat

Pretty much narrowed my seat choices down to the Mustang Lowdown and Danny Grey Long Haul. I'm looking for some feedback from those of you that have tried all different flavors of seats and were able to compare these two companies. Not necessarily these two specific seats. More the product they produce in general. Which one is the more comfortable seat for all day riding.

Not looking for opinions on other companies as these are the two seats I am deciding between.

There have been many comments about how the low down pushes you forward which many do not like. I was pretty satisfied with the Mustang quality and the seat was pretty comfortable. I was going to order a Danny Gray but when I was inquiring about the seat I found Danny Gray's customer service not to be that great.

I have no complaints with my Danny Grey seat. It is a quality built seat. Customers service went out of their way to help me. I like how it sits me down and back a little makes you feel like your in the bike not on the bike.

C908: Just made a thread about this. Got some interesting info on the Mustang Lowdown seat

kfstreetglide: I agree. Sherry at DG took the time to answer all of my questions and to put together an email with some requested pics and specs of the seat I was interested in. I would hope after the sale cs is as good as prior to.

Thanks for the comments. Keep 'em coming.

Never dealt with DG but my after the sale experience with Mustang has been awesome. I happened to get a tear in the cover of the riders backrest cover. When I called I explained what happened and the fact that a friend was missing a button from his Mustang. Ami sent all we both needed plus a hat for each of us, all at no charge.

I have used mustang seats on everthing from a intruder to my limited and I have to say that I am really a big fan of their seats. My current seat on the limited is the regal touring and I can pull 600 with no worries. The one thing about the regal is that is is a little softer than the normal touring seat, not that it is a bad thing, I can still pull many miles, it was just a little surprising to me given what I was used to. The quality and customer service is great as well. I've been thinking about getting one for my 2004 road king, but just dont have the $$$ at the moment, but once I do the deal is going to be done. Mustang is a great seat plain and simple.

Are you looking for a solo seat with backrest like this? I love it by the way.
Sorry man, pic won't load for some reason. I have the mustang wide tripper.

Recieved the Mustang Vintage Solo W/rider backrest & passenger pillion yesterday. I am VERY happy with the quality of the product. Looks great on the bike IMO. The seat sits lower than the stock seat & sits me a lil further back. It is a very firm seat but not rock hard like some of the Corbins. The seat covers are very high quality!, if you didnt know better you would swear they were leather. Mustang has a no questions asked return policy if your not satisfied for any reason for 30 days. I saved a few bucks purchasing it through Chrome World off Ebay. They were a pleasure to do bussiness with & shipped free from Delaware to Ga. in 3 days! I have no experience with Danny Gray, but I highly recommend the Mustang.

I liked the feel of my stock seat but wanted something that looked different so after spending time taking to Sherry with Danny Grey, I went up to thier shop to pick out a leather for my stock street glide to be recovered in a thick (bout 1/4 inch, top grain leather). Got it back along with the passanger backrest and rider backrest in about 4 weeks. Rode up to Sturgis, while in Jackson Hole Wy I parked in front of a saddle makers shop, 80 year old saddle maker from the shop comes out and says to me, Son, you have no idea how hard it was to make that seat you are riding on, that is a thick hide and very hard to work with to get it right, whoever made that, tell them an old saddle maker from Wy, said nice job! My point here is I don't know anything about other seat makers but I do know the leather workers and Sherry have years of experiance with riders and seat choices and will take great care of you. Good luck!
