Default Hangin in Baton Rouge

So the wife is going to a class here in Baton Rouge LA. I took leave to hang out and trailered the bike. Got out today and did about a 120 mile loop on hey 77. Beautiful ride. I still the rest of the day and all day tomorrow. Just gotta find more cool routes. If all else, I'll just head to New Orleons and check the area and history out. Beautiful weather.

I'll have to disagree with the Atlas on this one. 77 is a Louisiana byway and a really scenic drive. You get to it from 1 though.

Take River Road up and down on either side of the river. Go below Baton Rouge on I-10 to La 22, go left (not sure of compass) lots of good road. And/or head down Hwy 90 toward Houma and Thibodaux.

Hwy 77 is a nice ride, and you could've extended it by going down 78 to New Roads, then back to BR via the River Road (west bank). There are lots of good roads around here, among them 22, River Road (east bank south as far as New Orleans and west bank north as far as Natchez, MS), and numerous areas around St. Francisville, just north of BR.

Hwy. 1 would be far down my list of best roads in the area, IMO, although if you must go NW toward Alexandria and Shreveport it is probably the best route.

I just PM'd you to invite you on a ride we're doing tomorrow going east and south of BR, which will probably last all day. It'd start out around 60° with a high of around 72° with little chance of rain.

North to Natchez. 84 east to 33 south to gloster. East to Liberty and South to Clinton. From there south to BR
