Default Slip ons compared to whole exhaust, whats the difference?

I'm wondering whats the difference between slip ons to a whole exhaust? Will be going on a 04 road glide. Wondering if it's worth it to buy the whole exhaust or just the slip ons, opinions? Looking at the reinharts but am open minded still....Thanks!

Don't know about your bike, but on my 2011 Superglide the cat's were in my mufflers. So I don't see how full exhaust would be any different. I've heard people on here say that their cat's are in their head pipe. In that case I could see the benifit of a full system.

Just think of it this way. On your car you have stock exhaust manifolds and a cat and a muffler. If you just change your muffler you will get more sound and a more free flowing exhaust not to mention a few ponies. Now if you want more performance you get headers with the free flowing muffler and you will get even more ponies. Non the less it all depends what your looking to accomplish. If you want your harley to sound like a harley the just throw on some slipons. If you are looking for the most ponies you can get then you do an ac upgrade, slipons, header, and tuner.

04 headpipe is a decent piece,no cat.unless it cracks(common at the y joint) slip-ons will do just fine for a stg1.

For a few dollars more you could add a cost effective true dual setup for under $200

I've got the fullsac setup, removed the heat and sounds great

I agree.....although the torque may be a bit higher, and torque is what matters on a street bike Harley.

Now....cams and the work you are planning with a good tune can make a real big difference...
