I really get tired of seeing these threads and the facts falling on deaf ears. Buy a Zumo and be done with it. You spent boo koo bucks on your bike so drop $600 on a GPS u don't have to worry about. My 660 has been through more rain storms than I care to remember. As far as I know the Zumo line is the only waterproof GPS out there. OP, you live in Florida. Face it. Rain is inevitable.

The Nuvi line has 2 that fit that bill. The Nuvi 500, and the Nuvi 550, are both water proof, and you can Ram mounts for both. I've found and seen that the Zumo 550 has the best in sun light screen. I have the Zumo 550 and it everything you want in a gps. I know people that have had both and they claim the Zumo 550 works better than both the Zumo 660 and the 665. But none of the Zumo lines are cheap, start at 600 bills and go up.

I'm really happy with my Garmin 62ST. I find its screen large enough for fast capture in the traffic, fits in my pocket, runs on 2 cells or usb plug, I fix it on the tiny RAM mirror support mount, it can be read under bright sunlight, is waterproof, uses a 3D compass, reads 8Gb miniSD, but its not the regular heavy-weight thing

One of the other threads listed a GPS you can program in your trip. I do not know which brand it was.
What is up with this mike guy, every post he is belligerent, I really get tired of seeing these threads and the facts falling on deaf ears.
Hey man if you do not like them, do not read them or post to them.

Geez, calm down man. Guys can post any question they want. If you're tired of readingn the questions, just pass by w/out responding.
Anyway, there are numerous threads out there with this topic. May I suggest, before investing in a stand alone GPS, you try your cell phone. If you have a smartphone, you should have a superior GPS already installed. I recently asked the same question and someone made the same recommendation. I have the Samsung Galaxy III phone. I just ordered a RAM mount which gets connected to the left handle bar. To keep the battery charged, I bought a USB cigarette charger and have it charged into the cigarette port. Then I run a 3.5mm wire from the phone into the head unit. That way, I can hear turn by turn through my stereo. RAM also sells a case for your phone that makes it water proof. I tried it yesterday for a quick 90 mile ride while averaging 80 MPH and it worked fine.
What's the point of having a smartphone if you're not going to think outstide the box and use it to it's fullest capacity. I really think you should think about this before investing in a GPS. If you don't like it, by all means, invest in an stand alone GPS.
