How often are you changing spark plugs on your twin cam?

Once a year or every 10k, whichever comes first.

I changed mine at 15k and they looked almost new, as in, there was no edge wear on the electrode. I am sure they would have went another 20k.

I was going to originally change them at 20k but I had two or three sets of plugs laying around and one of them was the pulstar plugs and with so many people trying them I decided I would go ahead and throw them in, so I did.

So normally I would change mine out at 20k or so.

Heck I have a cage in my yard with over 220k on it, and it still has the original plugs in it. I was testing it to see how far they would go, but apparently it's time for the test to end. I mean it runs like a new one still and passed emissions every year with some of the best numbers, so I haven't been able to bring myself to replace them, even though I have had the new ones in my garage for about 4 years.

I changed mine at about 16K and they looked good. Changed again at 25K because the set was rusting externally and looked crappy, but internally they looked great. As far as the service manual goes, yes it is absolutly necessary if you do your own wrenching, but that does not mean everything has to be followed exactly.

I believe the service manual says to replace at 20k.
