Believe the initial idea was to put the radiators in lower fairings.
This kind of makes sense to me, as perhaps the Road Glide is highest average mileage bike. Most owners are drawn to it due to it's fairing being the best for long road trips.
Maybe this model could most easily cope with the additional weight and complexity of added water cooling, and the benefits would be most advantageous on long highway cruises.
No matter. Eventually HD will be forced into water cooling, and perhaps this is the best bike for them to start with.
Imagine a side benefit of water cooling will be additional HP and Torque.
After road glide, I would expect to see this next on the Tri-Glides.
