Default If I am going in there....

I am hearing the sounds of my primary inner race bearing going out again. Had it happen a couple years ago and recognize the sound. At that time it was covered under warranty so I had the HD dealer replace it. This time it is not and I like to wrench on cars, bikes, etc. Same bearing going out twice in 5 yrs, hmmm.. does HD have an issue here.

Anyway, if I am going into the primary to replace the bearing I would like to get some feedback.
- how big of a job is this? yes I do have a service manual. looking for some personal experience and advice here. Is is better to just take it to the HD shop, did I say that out loud?
- any special tools I may need for this?
- Is there a post of how to do this anywhere on this forum?
- what bearing should I put in there. Don't think I want to go back with HD bearing.
- I presume I should replace the primary chain tensioner with Hayden or something similar.
- what else should I check, replace, or upgrade while I have the primary torn down. I have about 35k miles on an 2008 Ultra Classic with a 103 ci engine. I am letting you guys spend my money so expect some great suggestions

the only thing I will suggest is do not use air impact tools on the clutch nut ( left hand thread) or the compensating sprocket bolt.

You will need the main shaft race tool.
