Default Ignition switch issue

I recently upgraded my front forks so I had to take the ignition selector off. When I reinstalled it I notice that when I turned the key to lock you can still turn the ignition on. I am not sure if I have an alignment issue from taking it off? No I do not have that tool.

Thanks
Mike

Does it stay down once it is locked?

So everything seems to be in alignment. It works in all position but when I have the ignition in off position turn it to lock with key it still rotates to ignition and accessorie. What I did notice that it does not seem to be pushing down all the way for the mechanism to catch in the slot? I don't know I have been through the manual several times.

When you removed it did you do it from the lock position? And if so did you use the home made "tool" or a screwdriver to to move it to unlock?

I removed it from the unlock position that's the only way it will let you push the button in to get it off. No tools.

So with the forks locked after you removed the ignition how did you unlock them to move the forks freely?

You don't have it aligned properly...seems to be off 1-notch. Remove & get a long screwdriver to turn the slot 1-click to the Left then retry...good luck!

That was my problem too, I used a screw driver and the bottom tumbler was out of wack. I had to "click" mine several times to the left and it dropped right in.

There's a guy on this forum that sells a tool for $15-$20 and it works great I've used it several times and I'm HMO it's well worth the money
