Correct exhaust gasket for Fuel Moto header pipe???
I'm finishing my 107 build and decided to replace the existing exhaust gaskets located in the heads. I had previously removed the stock exhaust header and installed the Fuel Moto 2-1-2 header, without replacing the OEM gaskets, so I thought a replacement might be in order.
I went to the dealership and purchased a new set of OEM gaskets (not Screamin' Eagle) and noticed that they are flat on one end (to fit flush against the head) and tapered on the other end (so that the stock header pipe, which is also tapered) will easily fit inside the gasket.
The Fuel Moto 2-1-2 head pipe doesn't have a tapered end where it mates to the gasket, it is basically "flat" or "blunt", which is why the gaskets that I removed from the heads were "crushed" flat (the taper was gone).
Should I just go ahead and use the OEM gasket and let the head pipe "crush" the tapered end of the gasket?
or
Should I trim the tapered area off of the OEM gasket so that the head pipe fits flush against it?
or
Do I need another type of gasket?

As listed in the Jackpot installation instructions you can either use the factory tapered gaskets which allow the flat billet collar to engage into the outer circumference, or we also offer an optional Fuel Moto flat gasket as well. Either gasket will work. Note: you cannot use the flat SE gaskets as they are too thin an will affect the fitment of the exhaust system and clearance at the cam cover.
