Stage 1 Download and 0903 ECM Update
OK, here's the deal: I'm currently running the V&H Oval Slip-Ons, Fuel Pak, and Stage 1 Intake. The Oval Slip-Ons are a bit loud for me (this week), and I am thinking of going back to the stock mufflers. But the SE Stage 1 Intake really helped the engine to breathe better, so I would like to keep it installed knowing that I will have to manage the air/fuel mixture somehow. V&H does not offer a FuelPak map for the stock mufflers and Stage 1 Intake, so I need an alternative to manage the mixture. I suspect that Jamie has a map for the PCIII, but I'm not convinced that I want to go that way. I'm thinking I might go with the HD Stage 1 Download and be done with it.
I have the 0903 ECM update done last month, and it really made a difference that I don't want to lose. If I go with the Stage 1 Download from HD, will it overwrite the 0903 update? What do you think about my proposed setup?

RE: Stage 1 Download and 0903 ECM Update
I haven't heard yet about the 0903 Ecm update what is it?
Is it a HDMOCO issue or what.
I know about the stage 1 d/l and the race turner and pcIII etc, but this update is new.
please explain it.
thanks

1. Please read the entire bulletin.
2. Table #1 is the OEM calibration’s (Except CVO) and may be performed now.
3. Table # 2 is the Street Legal Stage and CVO calibrations. If you have a vehicle that is
involved in this Product Program and the calibration is listed in Table 2 of the bulletin,
DO NOT
perform the calibration upgrade until Digital Technician Version 20.xx
becomes available in late December as stated in the bulletin. There will be
no

4. Unlike the normal procedure for calibration reimbursement, this product program will
not require an authorization for calibrations in table #2.
5. This bulletin only pertains to the Street Legal Calibrations.
6. If the motorcycle has an EFI Race Tuner installed (for off road use only) Product
Program 0903 does not apply. In this case, please send a fax to 414-343-8346,
Attn: Hector, with your dealer number, VIN number and a brief note stating that
the bike is Race Tuned and we will close the Product Program for that specific

RE: Stage 1 Download and 0903 ECM Update
Well I think my question still remains.
For the bikes affected by the program:
Was this recalibration a HDMOCO issue that they had to
address because of a driveability issue?
I see in the text that you are required to wait until digital technician two
is released by moco before you have the program done.
Now once you do the program as issued by moco,
can you do stage one or not and if you do does it over write this programs
calibration?
And does anybody know why moco is doing this, what were the issues
moco was / are trying to correct?
Where did you get a copy of the bulletin and other than call the moco
or dealer how do you find out which bikes are affected?
I have the hdmoco race tuner installed on my bike last year, so I am exempt anyway, but would like the info for informational purposes.
thanks

RE: Stage 1 Download and 0903 ECM Update
OK, I just got off the phone with the service manager
at thunder mountain HD in Colorado.
Is he telling me true or blowing smoke.
The 0903 ECM update pertains to only 07 bikes.
HDMOCO was hearing a lot of complaints from people experiencing excessive noise.
He says it really isn't excessive, but people weren't used to hearing it as it is a combination of a redesigned TC engine and the 6 speed tranny.
And what it does in effect is remap the torque output to quiet this down!
And a standard stage 1 d/l does not address this issue.
But a full race tuner does.
(at least he didn't suggest louder pipes).
So what do you all think?
