Going to take a new bike to do that! I even tried to inquire about getting a newer head from HD to swap with my head but was told no.

If you're willing to buy an HK head unit, iPod module from HD or Iron Cross Audio, and do some very simple rearranging of wiring, send me a PM and I ll walk you through the how to.

It's not difficult and others have done it, myself included--basically you will replicate the audio wiring on an '05 or older model to what the '06 and newer models.

Not sure. I PM'd the other guy that responded on this thread but no response. I did email Iron Cross and actually got a response! I am going to call them tomorrow but in his email he said it was a direct plug in? I'm not sure I know what he means by that

Challenger, I sent you a PM a few minutes ago BEFORE I read your latest post. You should have said I hadn't replied too your PM "yet."

Also, I asked for a phone number so I could call you to explain what is involved. I welcome anyone else to do the same.

If you use the search function with my username and BAMI as the search terms, you will find a lengthy description of how I did essentially what you want to do albeit with CB--the IPod module was later added using HD's directions since my bike's wiring replicated the '06 and newer models.

I'm using my iPhone 4 and typing is a pita.

No. The HK is a 2 ohm system. '05 and older models use 8 ohm so the speakers don't have to be replaced though it would be useful to do so.
