Default Cruise control problem

My cruise control quit working on my 08 RK Classic. The yellow indicator light turns on, but I get no green light and the cruise won't lock on when I try to set it. I searched the forum and found several posts regarding the roll off switch being the possible problem, and an easy fix if it is. I can find nothing that looks like the switch I saw in the photos. My bike has the throttle by wire, so does that make a difference, and does my bike even have a roll off switch? If it does have one, does anybody know where it is located? If not I guess it's a trip to the dealer which I try to avoid at all costs. Thanks in advance.

The 1st thing I'd do would be to check and make sure my brake lights weren't on whenever the ignition is on. If they are you may have a bad brake light switch. The cruise won't set if it thinks you have the brakes applied.

I checked the brake lights. They are OK.

No ya don't have a roll off switch with tbw. The clutch switch or brake switch are the only mechanical switches that control the cruise. If your 6 gear light work the clutch switch most likely is OK. If your brake lights aren't on those switch are most likely OK. It may be a fuse? Otherwise ya have a short in the wiring or a problem with the ecm?

Did you solve the problem?
My '09 FLHTC started that problem and I went through 3 brake switches, each one causing the same problem.
It started, funnily enough, because the switch was changed out as part of the factory recall.

The procedure for checking the cruise is in the electrical service manual.

do the following

Kill switch in run position
Hold cruise to set position
Turn on ignition
Cruise light on speedometer should be green
Release set on cruise light should be red
If it stays green you have a switch problem or pinched wire
if it is red make the other switches one at a time
all the following should turn the light green
set
resume
front brake
rear brake
clutch
throttle roll forward

There have been many instances where cruise control issues arose when the "front wheel speed sensor" connector becomes unseated with it's mating connector on the cable leading to the front wheel ABS speed sensor. That connector is located, at least on my 2010, under the left side of the faring near the top of the left fork leg. Or you can follow the cable up from the ABS speed sensor on your front wheel and find the connector that way. Just make sure this connector is properly connected to eliminate it as a contributor or cause of your issues.
