Default padding behind fairing speakers?

i just installed some boom fairing speakers on my 10 UC. i was wondering if anyone put any type of padding or material on the outer fairing to help improve the sound, and if you did what did you use. thanks.

Yes, check the audio forum ... and a good source for excellent advice is "UltraNutz" ... He will not lead you wrong.

Took advice from a local stereo professional and installed extra large foam mouse pads from office depot. They are 13.3" x 13.3" and 1/4" thick. They helped a lot with my 6X9 speakers in my Reckless fairing.

J&M also sells a foam pre-cut pad kit for the HD OEM fairings.

I just didn't want to have to deal with having a wad of polyfil packed in the fairing with no way to secure it. The polyfil may work better, I don't know, but I can say the foam made a big difference in my system.

Poly fill is about $3.00 a bag at Walmart. I have used it in my bike and cars. It works great and is cheap.

Attaching it is as easy as wrapping the speaker and puttin' a stinkin' zip tie around it.

I mean.... REALLY?

+4 on polyfill. It works the best and make sure you get the sheet type about 1" thick.
