Age Old Question~ Differences between the 3 EG models?
I have read a lot of info, but it seems to all be from 2011 or older. As im shopping now, id like feedback based on the new '12 and '13 models (assuming there are differences in those years)
Id def be looking to make the tourpack detachable, if that makes a difference in which model i look further into.
I also really like some of the 2tone options offered .. leaning toward that blue/black 2tone ... just not sure i need an ultra.
Any feedback? Sorry for such a redundant question. Linking me to recent feedback would be great.

I have owned both the Road Glide and the Road King. The Glide was a 2005 with a stage two 95" motor. Wonderful touring bike.
The Road King is a black 2012 W/ abs, security, etc. The RK is a better machine with the stiffer frame, 103" motor, and Brembo brakes.
It is arguably the best bike I have owned. I have owned many makes and bikes.

Just by looking at them, I think i like the Ultra Classic ... is that the one with the rack on the side of the saddlebags? I like that look.
I also like the Blue/Black 2tone option for that model.
So by going with that bike, what am i not getting that is on the Limited?
Also is it extremely costly/hard to make the tour pack detachable on that model?
Thanks

This is the bike I have. I have owned other bikes, but this is my first HD. I love this bike, but hate the way I read these forums and feel that I need to make modifications. I have already put in a catless header, mufflers, billet AC, backrest. I have not detached the tour pack (yet), but opened it up in order to install the adapter to turn the lights to running/braking/turn signal.
I have read on this forum where some have detached the pack and put on a different seat to give it a street glide look.
The way I am going I may toy with this idea in the future if I am not single by that time. Wife is reaching limit.
All in all this is a great bike. Love the 2 tone black/blue

IMHO. If you really plan on touring get the Ultra. The detach kit for the tour pak isn't expensive for the 08 and older. I never use the CB so that's a waste.
Also, almost never use the passenger to passenger communication BUT, having the port on the console allows you to listen to the radio, CD with regular ear buds or head phones. No need to use the HD headset. Big plus for me.
