Default Question on ABS...2008 SG

Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced a problem with their abs system on their bike. I had to make a emergency stop(mashed the rear brake pedal) felt the pulse feedback on the pedal, but immediately after I let off the brake pedal the abs light in the guage cluster stayed on. I stopped for a coffee, shut the engine down/ignition switch off. About 15 min later turned everything back on, started bike up, and the abs light stayed on only for about 10 seconds as I got rolling. My question is: does the ABS module/computer store codes ? My dealer is telling me that he scanned and it didn't throw any malfunction codes. After the initial incident, I made a few emergency stops on purpose, just to see if the light would stay on after the panic stop/braking and the abs light would stay on until I would shut the engine down. Can someone please chime in if this is normal. Thanks in advance...

Joe

That sounds about right to me. The ABS will blink after start-up until it verifies you are moving - it's kinda like a self-test.

I did not notice the "stay on" after ABS engagement when I tested my front ABS on some sand.

This was on a 08 RK, btw.

I believe it will stay on (flashing) to around 5 mph. The op indicated it was on for 10 seconds. I'm assuming its not the self test since 10 seconds gets me to 100 mph :-)
