Default Fairing Lowers Ebay or HoggChops?

I see I can get brand new aftermarket lowers with glove boxes and vented for less than $200 on Ebay vs $289 for HoggChops.

Any opinions, or experience with one or the other?

Can't decide.

From what I have read extensively on the forums, the ebay ones are just fine but the mounting hardware is the weak/cheesy part. Most people just change out that crap hardware for HD ones and are happy campers.

Hogg Chops are nice, but hollow on the back side, not that you can really put anything in the HD Lowers anyway?

I have the Hogg Chopps and like em' a lot!!

Hey roussfam, can you send the link to the ebay lowers you're talking about? I'm interested in buying a set myself and the link might help others know exactly which ebay lowers you're refering to. I'm leery of buying any type of part from ebay because of what cubalz mentioned...crap parts that keep the cost of producing low which keeps the price low, and then you have to spend more money on product improvements. It might just be better going with HoggChops because at least you know they got it right the first time. I'd hate to discover that the cheap ebay crap is faulty in the middle of a ride (peace of mind knowing that your biking isn't going to fall apart on a ride = difference in price between ebay and HoggChops or about $90 or $45 per lower).

200 seems like a great price.

I bought my wife a set of the Matazu lowers for her Road Glide. The quality is excellent. The hardware is not very good, but usable. It's hard to get the cap studs to stay put while putting the caps on. The friction plates are mild steel, and bent pretty easily. Once they're mounted, it's not a big deal.

I have Fairing Factory with the quick detach hardware and magnetic glove boxes. Got them delivered for less than $ 350 if I remember.

They are fine, work well, good fit and finish. Ive also seen the Matasu and they are about the same quality.
