RE: Dual or single axle trailier?
well each to there own, most trl have a 3500 pound rated axel, your bike weights at max 800x2=1600pds now add weight of your trailer only leaves you about 14500 for weight of trl most will not weigh that much. If you have a good tow vehicle no need for brakes.

RE: Dual or single axle trailier?
My 6x10 Haulmark came with 205/75/15 tires rated at 1820 each. 3500# axle and electric brakes. I pull it with a 1/2 ton truck with factory 20,s with sport suspension, and I love the electric brakes, especially on snow, ice, or rain. Some of us live where it,s not always sunny and dry. No pun intended.

RE: Dual or single axle trailier?
i have a 6x12 single axle that is seriously heavy duty. all large diemater tube steel. no cheap angle iron. i was told the axle was rated well over the 2,990 weight limit of the trailer. i guess anything over 3,000 lbs requires brakes. as far as i can tell, it is the largest i couldget that didn't require brakes. i have a big truck with heavy duty brakes so i wasn't worried about stopping power. i pull it with my jeep as well as my truck but i don't have any kind of brake hook up on the jeep. best of all, i bought it brand new for 1k. it was a dealer leftover and i gave him cash with no warranty. i wasn't worries about the warranty cause i'm pretty mechanically inclined and after all, it's just a trailer... big enough to haul 3 quads..
