I have an Electra Glide that did not come with a CB. Also no tour pack. I have bought a CB radio to use on the bike and now I need to mount an antenna. Looking for any input from someone who has done this already. I have considered using a truck mirror mount antenna and mounting it on the bag guard. Or maybe getting a Street Glide antenna mount. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

Check out eglide goodies, I believe they have a mount that would work for what you want to do.

 

Bag guard mount would probably work, but you need top make sure that it grounds to the battery. Weak grounds on an antenna equal poor transmission. You also have to tune the antenna to the transceiver. Not a difficult thing to do, but you need a Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) meter to accomplish it.

 

Check out Clay's Radio website and call. He knows more about motorcycle CB, including Harley's, than anyone you are likely to find.
