Default Chirping Road King

2007 RKC 21788 miles. I have a chirping noise that sounds like it's coming from the left rear. It only chirps when the bike is moving. At idle or even with the engine revved it does not make the chirp. It's pretty loud as I can hear it from pull out up to highway speeds. I tightened everything that I can think of to no avail. I put a new tire, rim and bearings on over the winter, but I just got the bike and didn't ride it before the work. Can a loose/tight drive belt make this noise? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.

put some lubricant on the rubber grommet that holds the rear of your mufflers. Its the isolator drying out and causing that sound. It will stop for a while but it will come back...

Tell your wife to lean to the right and see if the chirping sound switches sides.

My 07 FLSTF had a chirp of sorts, not loud but noticed when backing off throttle going about 25 to 35 mph. My D&D fat cat along with my roller rockers and redshift 575 cams, pretty much covered up noises; they made their own.

Break pads seated correctly?
They may be rubbing?

Put some lube on the rubber bushing for the exhaust. No help still chirping. I checked my belt tension with a tension gauge. I have 3/4" deflection. The service manual says 1/4-5/16". So, I guess I will tighten the belt as soon as the bike cools off. It's 90+ degrees here today, need an a/c in the garage. Thanks

a chirp only on decel can be from a loose belt, esp on a lowered bike.

Check your belt first, but I searched for months to find the source of my chirp, and was very frustrated. I found my source by accident, and would have never even know tho check there. There is a rubber nub on the rear brake caliper where it sits against the swing arm. I took the caliper off for something I installed (Can't remember what), and when I saw that rubber, I figured I would lube it up with silicone spray, and my chirp went away.
