Im putting big radius pipes on my street glide and i just ordered big city thunder baffles should i just use the bct baffle by itself or use it plus the factory one if i cut it down
Only you'll know what sound appeals to you. I had the stock baffles then removed them and they sounded awesome but that's just me. I've been told the BCT baffles are nice though. If you change out the stock ones do it soon cuz the heat cycles will make them seem like they're welded in.
Never used 'em in a Harley, but I've had them in pipes of a RoadStar & a Stratoliner, and they sounded great. I'd say try 'em alone. If you think it's way too loud for you, you can put the cut-down baffles in too, but you might have to just drill a couple more holes.
When I first heard my BR pipes, I thought they were too loud and almost got those baffles. But after awhile, I got used to them. Yeah, they're a little loud when I go from 1-4 gear but I've had cops on all sides of me and they've never looked my way. I guess because I don't "get on it" when I take off.
I had BCT monster baffles in my Big Radius pipes on my 2013 Fatboy Lo. Sounded sick! You dont use the stock baffles. Take them out and make sure you place them in the pipes where BCT recommends...i think its 6 inches from the tip. Make sure if you dont put them in whoever does knows this because they will put them where the stock baffles are and thats not correct...by the way make sure you get Monster Baffles and not the ones that quiet down the pipes
