Default 8" or 10" apes for streetglide ?

I am looking to put a set of mini apes on my 13 streetglide. It appears that you can use your stock cables and wires with the 8 or 10 inch, and I do not want to go any taller than 10 due to the fact that the bars are above the fairing.
The question is can I still see out of my stock mirrors with the apes ? Also if anyone has a pic they can post to see what they look like on the bike... I just don't want the big tall above your shoulders swinging ape!!!!

Default Nope!

Your fairing mounted mirrors will be useless. 10" are perfect height, not too high or low. I took my handlebar mirrors and flopped them upside down, looks great and very functional! I'm currently installing another set of 10's on a buddy's bike after he rode mine. We're both 5'11"-6'1". Hope this helps!

Take a look at the Harley bat wing mini apes. I was going to go with the Yaffe 10in. Monkey Bagger Bars but there was a whole cluster f**k with the ordering process and wait time so I saw these and I really liked them. They go right to the top edge of the fairing so I put on the Harley edge cut bar mounted mirrors. They look great to me. I don't have pics (because Im a 49 year old man with a four year college degree and I don't know how to put pics on the computer!) but go to youtube and type in" mini apes on a street glide" and it is the one from Adamec HD- it's a black 2012. That's where I got my "inspiration".....or just do what you want.

I have the Yaffe 10" MBB on my '12 SG. Only changed out the clutch cable (+3). I put some bar mirrors on but just didn't like the look so went back to the stock fairing mirrors. I can see out of 3/4 of the mirror and have to get use to it but I just didn't care for the mirrors on bar look nor bars above fairing look.

i have the 10" wild1 w0578 bagger bars. one word, AWESOME! this is the best and most comfortable mod i have done. no wiring, no brake or clutch cable change either. you will have to buy mirrors because the lower part of the bar controls blocks them. biggest thing i would say is cut out the green connector for the tbw. when putting tension on it pulling the wires through theres a good chance your going to damage it anyways and get a check engine light with a green flashing cruise light. also take a picture with your phone or something of the wires before your pull them out of the connector. that makes it so much easier to put back together. took a couple of hours. not hard but time consuming. i ran the clutch cable like the break cable as well. but i looked at the 2014's and they did the same thing.

Your bike, if the same as my 2012 sg comes with 8" bars. Dugan shows a pic of his 10" yaffes. The monkey bars are off by 2 inches compared to all other brands. I have HD's 12" bars on mine and they sit about the same height above the fairing. If you want to keep your hands behind the fairing, 10" non yaffee mbb should be thones to buy but will render your mirrors pretty much useless. yaffee mbb 10, or non yaffee 12 will allow you to use most of you mirrors
