Default Powder Coating Road King Mag Wheels

Hey everyone this is my first post.

I just bought a vivid black 07 Road King Custom and totally love the bike but the rear stock mag wheel is peeling badly where the edges are chromed and there are dark spots in the little nooks that almost look like mould.

I was thinking of having them sand blasted and powder coated gloss black. Does anyone have any pics of these on a bike after being powder coated or any opinions on whether I should have them chromed or powder coated.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the forum. I have been contemplating this scenario as well. I have been doing research and have found they can powder coat just about anything, so I do not see why the couldn't do the mags.

Good luck!

Take a look at the ones in my signature picture. Got them in a wheel exchange for $199. If you like them can get you the information.

I purchase a set of 07 mag. wheels for my 08 RKC which has white tins.
and had them powered black with white rims. I also had the white ran
up the litttle hash mark on each of the nine spokes. Also had the brake
disk powered coated white.
Now after 20K miles the white power has been discolored a little by brake
dust. But still looks pretty good, and would most likely do the white again.
As I remember the wheels were like $125/135 each and the disk were $75
each. All work was done local, in Va. Beach.....about 30+ mo. ago....Tenn.

If my 80 spokes ever go bad I'll powdercoat a set of mags. White spokes with polished rims and edges, similar to the stock black/brushed look.
