Default Busted Primary Cover bolt

I installed a Hayden M2 with no problems at all.

Replaced primary cover gasket and was tourqing (sp) the cover bolts. Was not paying attention and PING! one of the long primary cover bolt bust.
I know... I'm a ***!

After much cussing etc: I looked at saw that the bolt busted right at the end of the threading.

Is there a good way to remove the broken end ?

And is it safe to ride the bike as it is now? All the other primary bolts were installed correctly.

Thanks in advance ! And flame away ! I deserve it lol

No need to worry, carefully drill it out and use a bolt extractor to remove it. Extractors usually doesn't work to great for me and I end up drilling the entire bolt out and cleaning the threads with the correct tap. Take your time and be careful, its not hard to do.

End of the threading? So is it right down where the bolt enters the inner or the end of the threading as it protrudes from the cover?

it's probably not even tight. stick a pick or something in there and see if it wobbles. as a machinist i've done my fair share of bolt extractions. best advise is if you're not confident in your abilities don't mess with it! nothing worse than trying to repair a hole that someone broke an easy out or tap in.

You can use a small punch to make a small indentation in the center of the screw then use a LH drill bit with the drill in reverse. Most times the bit will grab and back the screw out.

Not having a bolt on primary cover shouldn't be a problem as long as there is no leak just use some silicone to glue a bolt head in the hole to hide it. I ran into same problem on my 07 UC about 60K miles ago still haven't got around it to get it out.
