Road Zeppelin Rider Seat Pad for 2014 Limited
#11
What parts had to be changed to install the pullback bars on? If the dealer did it what did they charge?
I had the pullback bars on a 2010 Limited, and I sure do miss them on my 2014 Limited.
Thanks

I have a 2014 Limited, just had 2" pullback bars installed and put my Hammock seat from my 2010 Limited on the bike, also have self-adjusting backrest, same combo I had on my 2010. On the 2010 it was total comfort,
on the '14, not so much. The backrest sits too far forward for the Hammock. Put the stock seat back on, not as comfortable on the backside.but accommodates the backrest much better. The stock seat seems to be the same "LOW" seat they came out with for the 2010 to replace the original higher stock seat. I didn't like it then, and I'm not crazy about it now because it is pretty low, and because it makes me feel like I'm right up on the tank, it does put you pretty far forward. I also notice that my legs and feet are right under me instead of angled out towards the front. The seat pad isn't the prettiest thing I've ever looked at, but I thought it might give me the comfort I'm looking for, while at the same time raising me up a little and letting me lean back with my feet out to the front again. i guess I'm looking for an inexpensive quick fix instead of shelling out $500 or $600 for a new seat that may or may not do the job. I f anyone has any experience with this seat pad, I'd sure like to hear your opinion. I did look for Harley's new Hammock for 2014, they have two versions, one will fit '14 touring Bikes without Tour Paks, and the other will not accommodate Adjustable back rests, I can't ride without a backrest, and obviously I have a Tour Pak.

I got a zep seat pad last year for Christmas. I ran it all season, and am very pleased with it, but like you said, sometimes its bothersome. I think it all stems to how you are sitting on it. I am going to add a strap to the rear so it hold its place, I am sure that will resolve the issue.
When I park, I put my helmet on top of it to make it less conspicuous for a thief. But if I am in a know bad area, I pull it and put it in the TP along with my helmet.

I have the Harley pad which i think is better than the air hawk due to the pump and deflate mechanism. I only use it on long trips to help when my butt bones get sore. It helps a lot as long as you use the least amount of air necessary. Too much air and it gets squishy. It does raise me up a bit which I do not need but it serves its purpose.

the clutch cable, and 2 brake lines, there were two more brake lines that were optional, so I opted not to get them. Cost about $900 to install, but let me say this, before going for the HD bars, check out other aftermarket bars with different pullbacks, I wish I had, would have gotten more pullback, the HD ones are okay, but I would have liked a little more, especially since I'm running my old Hammock seat, and it puts me way back.

Thanks for the info. I Changed the bars on the 2010 myself and did not have to change the brake lines. I was sure hoping that would be the case on the 2014.

Is there a Leather Zeppelin Air for the 2014?
I had a Zeppelin w back rest on my 07 and I loved it... Do they make a leather air ride for the 14?... Just purchased a 14 FLHTK... I have been able to find the vinyl version but not the leather yet... The Stock Seat sucks green bananas.. https://www.facebook.com/tim.scheffer.3
