Another compensator heads up
Been having some hot start issues lately...sometimes it would sound like something in the primary was ripping apart, but only when hot. Was at the dealership and asked the service manager to start my bike. He and the tech first thought I had a broken gear on the clutch basket. They pulled the primary cover, no broken teeth. Found the compensator bolt loose.
I had the compensator upgraded to the SE comp when my stocker pretty much disintegrated (covered by ESP). The tech pulled the bolt and went to his bench, where he had a longer one to compare with. I'm told the SE comp went to a 1/2" longer bolt sometime in 2012...because of this scenario. Comp itself looked very good for 40k miles. After the primary buttoned up, more noisy starting and the starter was replaced...all under ESP.
I know many of you have also gone to the SE comp, so thought I would give a heads up.
