Anyone W/Vance & Hines High Outputs Experience Discoloring on Chrome Tip Ends?
I've only put 100 miles on my new Street Glide and noticed some discoloring on the chrome on the end of the pipe (more on the left pipe). I assume this would happen over time but not within the first 100 miles. I've had one forum member state when they put it on the DYNO they might not have run a couple pre heat cycles with the pipes first. I've read on another thread a member stated he loves these pipes but had to clean them a lot. Just trying to narrow down the cause. Again, I know these pipes won't stay "chrome" forever but would have at least liked the chrome to "shine" a lot longer than 100 miles. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Always the left side will change colors there is gasses that are expelled through the left side. When it's running after 10 minutes or so when idle. Feel the air on the right pipe compared to the left. Right should be cooler then the left the combustion is expelled out the left side. I use the aluminum polishing wads from the auto parts store clean once a week and no problem.

You're welcome. I just looked in my shop and the product I use is
Eagle one aluminum wadding polish.
Below is what it looks like.

The were bluing around the inside edge of the end caps on both sides. On the inside edge where it meets the muffler itself. Was very weird, like they were leaking where the cap meet the muffler.
Vance and Hines had never seen anything like it.
