Default Doing my own oil and filter changes.

Well called my local H. D. dealer and they
Want a C note to do oil and filter on my ride.
We'll guess what ...... I doing it myself.
Oil and filter will cost me about 40.00
Bucks and the extra 60.00 I'm saving
I'll take the old lady out to dinner.
Which type of filter wrench is best for the road king.
I was thinking the one that looks like
A lid and you use a ratchet to take it off.

Make a catch tray using tinfoil, place it under the filter. Hammer (tap) a screwdriver into the filter and give it turn... Free and just as easy as any filter wrench. Put the new filter on and DO NOT crank it down, next time it will come off effortlessly.

I've used those with zero complaints.

I now use Amsoil, I buy from George Douglass direct, and get the filters at a good price when I order a couple cases of oil.

Buy the one from Harley works well. Just don't use a wobble extension with it. Make a catch ray out of a milk jug, sliding it under the filter, then pop a hole in the end and a second hole on the top of the filter. Make sure bike is at operating temp when you change it. Helps to get most of the oil out of the bike.

I use the K&N also. Like being able to use a wrench on the filter.

If youre doing all 3 holes with filter its about $79 for parts (amzoil trans and primary fluid), so for $20 theryre doing the labor which aint bad, but if youre just doing engine they want a Benjamin? Man I thought Calif was expensive.
Be careful with the filter removing with those fit on sockets, you can munch up the crank sensor. Look into Rivco tools, they have a slim hex band that fits nicely on the filter. Its absolutely useless with an oil cooler, but for a king it will be ****. It has a hex on the other end to remove drain plugs too. About $17
