I'm considering upgrading my 2005 RK Classic's Twin Cam 88 with a S&S 97 Big Bore kit which willl also include 551 Cams, a new barnett clutch (to handle the new torque and HP), tensioners, and gaskets as required. Has anyone done this and have they had any problems with the upgrade?

Additionally does Harley Davidson service bikes with S&S motors?

There are countless TC88s in here with 95/97/98 kits! You will be joining a BIG club. I can think of no reason why a dealer wouldn't service your bike, as being a 97" won't change any aspect of a service. If for any reason your dealer won't service it, your local indies will be happy to, I'm sure.

 

S&S make quality stuff. Dealers can/will still service it. Good Luck!

 

Might as well have the heads ported and polished while you're at it.
