Default 2014 Fuel gauge accuracy...

Good day; Riders.

Just wondering for those who have now purchased and are riding their 2014 scoots; "How accurate is your fuel gauge and how well does it work?"

On my bike (2006) I get 3/4 of my mileage from the "top half of the tank", and about 50 miles on the bottom 1/2 of the tank - that according to the ancient technology used for the fuel gauge.

Has HD provided a more accurate fuel gauge on the 2014's and does the fuel gauge give a digital readout estimate of remaining fuel or approximate miles until empty?

I'll bet the 14's give a digital readout for miles to empty since my 09 does

Unlike my previous Limiteds, when the gauge says empty it will be empty. When it gets to the low point your trip odometer will switch to show how many miles to empty. After 6100 plus miles, I believe the gas gage to be very accurate.

I've only filled my '14 SG a few times since taking ownership but both the fuel gauge and DTE appear to read accurately so far.

Mine got low enough that message came on GPS to give me directions to gas station. It only took 4.8 gallons.

Mine appears to be pretty accurate and linear if you compare miles to empty to the gauge level. When the gauge reads empty it takes pretty close to 5 gal to fill it back up.

When the low light comes on I have about 1.2 gallons left. The 1/4 to 1/2 readings seem to be pretty close to what my 08 read also.
The last 1/2 goes much quicker than the first half, as always.
