2014 HD 103 high output motor ?
How long will the 103 motor be used in the touring line up when the competition have better performing more powerful motors 106" Victory and 111" Indian?
I'm asking cause I'm looking at trading my dyna for a streetglide, but if I wait another 12 months maybe they will update the motor again to bring it in line with the competition, or maybe slot a 110" motor in as standard??
Any thoughts on this?

After doing the R&D to incorporate the water cooling into the 103 and then actually implementing it, my guess would be that the 103 would be around for a while. But then again, if I knew what corporate America was going to be doing before others knew I'd be a millionaire quite a few times over.

I think (and I would hope) that people dont make buying decisions based on 3 or 8 cubes.

What do you mean by "sweet spot" for this engine? I recently took a Victory for a ride with their stock 106" motor and was pleasantly surprised with the power and lack of heat etc. Why didn't HD go to a 106" or 110" ?

Why would you think a motor or total motorcycle is better simply because it has more displacement?? I'm thinkin if you judge the quality of a bike simply by the displacement of the engine, you lose all the soul of riding a Harley Davidson. Go buy that Victory, or Indian, they are both Polaris products, and never will be true competition of Harley. Gee how many times has the Indian brand been unzombied now, 5 , 6. It just aint gonna float or be any real competiton for Harley. I would never judge the total worth of a motorcycle simply by power and frankly the new 103 is fine right out of the box.
