Default SG to remain air/oil cooled for years to come?

Without the lower fairings, how will the SG be liquid cooled in the future with nowhere to hide the radiators?

I thought 2015 might see all touring models come out with liquid cooled heads, but where to put the radiators in a problem.

Yeah, I was thinking of waiting another 12 months for when all the touring bikes will likely come out with liquid cooled heads, but then I realized where the hell are they gonna put the radiators on the SG??? Might as well get a 2014 oil cooled one because they might stay that way for a couple of years unless they start making SGs with lower fairings as well. Price will probably increase too.

Pioneer74, are you suggesting they are going to develop another totally different radiator system that goes between the front down tubes (like the Vrod) just for the touring models without lower fairings? Not so sure about that myself.

IMHO,I don't think the air cooled motors are going anywhere any time soon.First off,the Project Rushmore included updates(cams, etc) to the air cooled motors.I don't believe they did that for a one shot deal.Secondly,Polaris developed an air cooled motor for the Indians. They would't have spent millions of dollars on a one or two year engine design. All of the manufacturers are aware of the future emission regs and are planning accordingly. My guess for next year would be the same 3 bikes with water cooled heads along with the RG,maybe an option on the Ultra.

Just about every other motorcycle manufacturer in this day that has liquid cooling runs the radiator between the downtubes. I honestly don't know any off the top of my head that are not in that location.

Same place the V-Rod radiator is located.

Yes, I think this is probably the most logical answer.

Here is my take on the subject.

EPA has mandated that a certain percentage of Harleys had to be liquid cooled and the MOCO accomplishes that for 2014. Why else would they have come up with such a stupid band aid fix for three models that cannot be implemented to any of the other models?
