Default Older King Tour Pack on '09 & Later Mounting Rack

Anyone have any experience mounting the '09 & Later Detachable Two-Up Tour-Pak Mounting Rack (HD part# 53276-09A) to a 2008 and earlier King Tour Pack?

I have acquired the older tour pack, and need to find a way to mount the new rack. Any advice, hints or cautions will be much appreciated.

The older rack that it came with, has a U-shaped tubular steel piece that the new rack does not come with (or seem to have anything comparable). I am concerned about getting the angles, elevation and tilt correctly positioned for the passenger, and of course, securing the pack safely.

Thanks for any help or ideas offered.

I put my older chopped TP on the new style rack for my 13 RG. Did away with the u-shaped tube and had to drill new holes in the base of the TP to line up with the new mount. The metal plate in the TP base was pre-drilled with the right pattern, just had to drill thru the plastic and plug the old holes.

Same here. I tried to set my tour pak back as far as I could lining it up with the contours on the bottom of the tour pack and drilled the holes.
