So, I'm trying to find a way to lower my 2014 SGS. I have already replaced the seat with a Danny Gray Low profile. Now i'm looking into suspension modification. The 14 SGS has the previous years CVO rear suspension. Does anyone know of lowering links that will work with the 14 street glide special???

 

Lowering Kit for the front is part # 45500157

page 375 of the 2014 parts book... it is a few bucks $349.95

I am picking up my bike in a few hours...had the lowering kit installed while I had the chrome front end put on....

 

Let me know how if feels. What did they charge for labor?

 

Most shops get 3-4 hours plus parts...

 

IMO your better off using the Progressive Monotubes over the HD Kit. much easier install.

If you want more look into the FBI Lowering kit that way you dont compromise ride quality as it moves the rider down into the frame, no loss f suspension travel

FBI kit is well over 2 grand, frame, side covers, new abs manifold, relo a bunch of stuff. I looked hard at it for the wife, but along with moving you down, it moves you away from the bars

 

Yea, 2 grand is a bit much. Too much of a process. I was really hoping someone had found a rear suspension solution. The progressive monotubes seem like a good solution up front. I'll have to measure eye - eye on the premium shocks that are on there now. I'm pretty sure they are already the low profile 12". Nobody has come up with lowering links yet huh?

 

Not sure if they will work on the 14s (not sure why they wouldn't) but the lowering blocks can be used IF you don't good to low. I use the 12" shocks with the Road 6 blocks and I don't rub, even two up...The ride is the same because you aren't shortening travel. Someone will come along soon and expound on all their evils but, most are just rehashing what they READ on the forums. If anyone has a horror story about them, make sure they actually saw it happen...Way too many internet experts around here...

They make good stuff. Look in to the Road 6 too...They have three positions so you can dial it in. I run it and love it...
