Default Nutserts stripped in outer fairing

I was removing my outer fairing today and one of the lower nutserts in the fairing spun and ended up cracking the fairing. I've epoxied it in the past and it obviously didn't hold. Any ideas of something that will work better? At this point I'm going to have to redo that area.

Harley sells replacement inserts that screw in, I had to replace 2 of mine last year so I just replaced them all at one time as far as it cracked you could use Plastic weld it comes in the same 2 part tubes as epoxy but is made just for plastic when I changed mine I reinforced all the holes with it because it just seemed like there was not enough material around the hole where the inserts went and it seemed like a problem waiting to happen

I don't about it being cracked now but I spun mine out and used Gorilla glue. It's held for a year now and I have to travel 3 1/2 miles of rough dirt and gravel road each and every time I go out. Give it plenty of time to cure though and go easy tightening to start with if you go that route.

I just replaced one on my sons bike that was worn and cracked. Check your fairing mount brackets to see if theyre broken, thats what caused his issue.

Default stripped nutserts

I have had two strip out at the windshield. Completely removing the nutsert and using JB Weld seems to have held up fine over the years. And +1 on checking those chincy fairing support brackets.

JB Weld or the Plastic Weld? I used 2 part epoxy in the past and that didn't work very well.

Default JB WELD or PLASTIC WELD

I've never used Plastic Weld, but I use JB Weld for many a broken plastic, aluminum repairs.

I used the JB Kwik, worked great, hopefully it will hold up.

Glue up the cracked boss then put in a new insert.

You can either use the HD insert or get the same thing from Lowes Home Store. Lowes calls them Wood Insert Nuts.
Note: You install these with the slot going into the hole to cut new threads. Install with a 1/4-20 bolt with a nut on it. Very easy fix!

I think you're going to have to tap the hole to 3/8 course thread in order for the insert to go in the hole without splitting the plastic. That's what I had to do on a flu. I just used a screwdriver to set the insert
