It is easy, requires a kit with new comp or solid front pulley, new clutch basket, new clutch parts.
there are downsides aplenty.
a dry clutch does NOT give as good a feel as a wet clutch
and there is nothing worse than a rock bouncing up into the primary and blowing teh belt off.
early models have dry clutches- the clutch would perform vastly different depending on temperature*- for this reason the tin cover was often spaced out, maybe the inspection and derby covers left off...eventually the entire cover might be left off.
the old tin covers were not structural, as the motor was bolted to the frame, and the tranny was bolted to a frame mounted sliding adjuster ( so as to adjust the primary chain)- after which the rear wheels would be adjusted for final chain drive tension.
on your bike the primary cases provide structural strength as the motor and tranny are bolted to gether and the whole drivetrain "floats" on rubber bushings
mike
*when hot, the plates would expand, causing teh bike to creep with the clutch disengaged...when cold, there may not be enough grab for the kicker to turn over the motor

I put a Primo Rivera on my 11 SG and love it. You can view my initial post under "Bagger with open belt drive". I have pics there. I now have about 2K miles on it and I can say that the pro clutch feels better then my stock wet cluch, engine RPM revs quicker as it is rotating half the mass and with how it is covered there is a slim chance for a rock to just fly up in the pullies
