Problems:
My Dutch FLHTK has version 1.16.9
The "newest" software 1.17.1.1 is dated 27 august 2013
Anyway all i get is
"The ISO image on the attached USB is corrupt or incompatible"
Several usb sticks, sizes, reboots, unzips.... whatever: no success"
Got the same message, went back and reformatted usb flash drive to fat 32 and then copied the files back over to the flash drive and it worked the 2nd time

Let me guess... you are getting the update from here, yes?
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...downloads.html
Well, as you've discovered, that doesn't work. You need the one from here:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_EU...io-system.html
Which DOES work. (Not that it seems to do much....)

Hello Jim,
You hit the right spot!!!!
Tnx 1000 times.
The devices are different that i knew
(no satellite, FM cb instead of AM cb, RDS instead of RDBS and so on...)
and therefore other software must be available.
Just could not find it anywhere.
How did you know/find this????????
Updated without any problem this time.
Will be back later for conclusions,
could be longer due to salt on the roads over here (ice protection),
must wait for some rain to wash it away,
Milwaukee Iron is NOT rustprotected i know from my earlier HD's :-(
Later my Garmin will be back on my bike, the iGo is inferior compared to the Garmin, in every respect.

Can we clarify which update is working ?
Please note the swdl.iso patch from the naviextras toolbox is the one giving me the issue. This file only comes from the naxiextras software and it gets downloaded to your thumb drive as soon as the server is connected and as soon as you click "OK".
I am not sure which patch people are discussing -the 1.17 patch or the one I mentioned.
Issues caused by using a wrongly formatted thumb drive will not be listed as that is spelled out in the manual. (FAT32)

Firstly, did you get the 1.17 patch installed ?
What is AVC ?
Is the TA using XM radio?
Are the saved addresses on a phone address book ?
Needing to know what items are faults and which are user or compatibility issues.
Thanks.

I spent some time with my Dealer's Service Manager a week ago, and while we were talking about who made the head unit and who provided the software, he called the Dealers' infotainment hotline.
"Expert" on the other end said Harmon Kardon makes the new head units.
I said "Harmon Kardon and not Harmon? I've read differently and they are 2 separate companies", he said "Harmon Kardon". I wanted to verify, so I said "are you sure?" to which he said "positive".
I then asked who provided the software engine and he replied "Garmin", which matched what H-D's Customer Service reps were saying in the early days (haven't checked back in a while).
So don't blame the Dealers for faulty information, this is being provided to them by H-D's "experts" on the Dealers-only hotline.

I did send a nasty email yesterday to Harman International asking them to assign someone to listen to us. no response yet. It's OK to have glitches/bugs with new stuff. It's NOT OK to have these things with no contact or help line. And the MoCo continues to be of no help at all with their own branded product.
