Hi Lars,
many of us get part numbers from this website:
http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson.com/
select oem harley davidson...
then motorcycle
and you should get a pull down menu with model year and then model.
however...your ignition switch may be different ( for European use?) or have been replaced by a previous owner.
I have had a 1995 model and a 2009 model, neither needed the key in place to start or turn the switch.
once the key is turned to "unlock" the switch can be turned to any of the positions
late 90's touring models had weak electrical contacts in the switch and many were replaced ( some under a manufacturers recall) - I wonder if your was replaced
( the weak contacts are made worse if high watt bulbs are used in the headlamp)

Thank You
Thank you for your help.
I am wery thanksfull for your answer and specially the fine site where to find oem part no and fine pictures.
my bike was from new sold in Germany and maybe the other owner change the switch.
I send two pictures one from my bike, and one with the switch i am interested in (number 18)
at the picture from Ronnies Harley.
Do you know if its possible to change only the switch and use my old inner circle so i can use my own key?
it would be a little more comfortable not to use the old model switch on these days where to do many stop and starts.
Thanks
Lars

I am sure the link Will be used a lot here In the future.
I own the bike from nearly new.
Then it was a Roadking Classic.
After a while i buy a salvage flht and change Model
But ignition switch was from the flht.
I Think if it Will be from a Roadking its maybe from a older model before the twincams 1999.
Maybe some other Can Tell me how much i need to change to install newer switch **** type?
Thanks for all your help
