Default Help with music files on USB drive

I just picked up a 14 Street Glide special and am trying to get the audio sorted out on the 6.5 Boom box. I copied a playlist from my iTunes library onto a flash drive and made sure the tracks were set up in the order I want them to play. When I connect the flash drive to my USB port on the bike, the tunes play in a different, random order. I've re-checked the track list on the USB, made sure the settings on the Boom box were correct, including making sure that shuffle was unchecked.
Any ideas??

I use DriveSort to put my songs in the order I want. The following link explains why they are embedded in the wrong order. Good Luck.

http://www.anerty.net/software/file/DriveSort.php

Just number your playlist and you can sort Alphabetically.

rename the songs starting with the number 1 in front of the name. That has helped. Most of the time my radio plays them in the order I put them on the drive. sometimes it starts with the first number then goes down to alphabet.

Does the built-in capabilities of the HD sound system recognize any kind of folder hierarchies, at all? Or will the player just scan all the mp3 files that are playable (regardless of whatever folders they are contained in), and then play them in alpha-numerical order?

If the latter is true…

If you have 99 songs or less, make sure you begin your numbering with "01", "02", "03", etc.

If you have more than 100, begin your numbering with "001", "002", "003", etc.

Drop them all in a folder on a Microsoft operating system. Insure like they say above by naming that they at least appear to be in the correct order. Now click the first and hold shift down and click last. Now the important part. Insure cursor is back on first and right click and hit copy. Now select the flash drive, right click and paste. Microsoft order system is not necessarily what other software uses. This is what I need to do for a lot of my 25+ year old NC machines that are loaded by antique Grecko operating system so the programs (text files saved without the .txt) stay in the correct order for the system to search or list.

I'd like to ask a follow up to the original question. Can the Boom support playlists on a USB stick?
